He mentioned that the audience would be other M.A.C. artists and that as such, black jewelry would probably work best. With that in mind, I came up with "Black Thorn", a one-of-a-kind necklace that will be sold via silent auction at the event today!
For this piece, I gave it a light, metallic silver shimmer and then spray sealed it for protection. I then secured silver stud rhinestones to the cameo setting and attached it to a silver bail (the loop at the top that allows it to hang from a necklace). Then, I added sixteen black and silver charms, including: a Czech glass leaf and flower I brought back from Prague (when I studied there in college), carved stone black skull, silver filigree, Swarovski crystal headpin, and more.
I'm really happy with how this piece turned out and plan to make more like this for my shop! It's similar in style to the necklace I made for the photoshoot. I definitely want to make more charm jewelry and recently got a shipment of awesome new charms in, so you'll see pieces like this being added to the shop soon.
I love making pieces to benefit charities and am honored that Keifla thought of me. Thanks for including me in your event! :)
