Hello!

It's Launch Day 2.0!! If you don't know me, my name is Kelsea. Two years ago, I launched Pink Wonderland, a blog I wrote in almost every day for five months. I loved so many aspects of the blogging experience, but a few things led to my ultimately neglecting my blog and leaving it for dead (SORRY, PW!).
+ As a perfectionist with a very limited understanding of Photoshop Elements, every blog post took me several hours. With a full-time job to contend with, posting five or more times a week ate up a tremendous amount of my time.
+ I was in a dying relationship and focusing all of my energy on blogging and on the Help a Heart event (raising money for the American Heart Association) was my way of avoiding being unhappy with my life otherwise... but once the inevitable break-up finally occurred (around the same time I was exhausted from Help a Heart), I could barely handle anything, let alone continuing my blog.
+ I was excited about PW, but I never felt it was quite "me." I love cute things and some girly things, but I also like cute morbid things and colors that aren't pink and I felt my former blog just didn't reflect my personality all of the time.

SO, that was a downer intro, huh? The good news is that a year and a half after the end of PW, I am back and ready to start over! I'm in a relationship with an awesome guy who encouraged me to quit my accounting job and go full-time with launching a small business. Some time spent saving, a lot of deliberation, and a bundle of nerves later, I did it! As of June 2, I am officially self-employed, though I won't be launching my business for a few more months. I've been spending most of my days learning Photoshop and Illustrator, practicing on blog graphics, and occasionally sneaking away to make a few pieces of jewelry.

I plan to be flexible and see where blogging takes me, but I've picked some of the things I'm most passionate about as the start for Kels Shark.
+ I am constantly looking out for awesome small businesses. I love buying from artists who put their heart into everything they make. I love hearing the stories about how an artist grew his or her business, how they create their artwork, or what inspires an artist. I don't buy everything from small businesses, but I try to check with indie stores before I check in big stores.
+ I care a ton about those I love and think gift-giving is really important (and fun!). People often ask me for suggestions on the perfect gift to get someone, so I'd love to include some gift guides here (especially indie-focused gift guides).
+ Ideas are swirling around my head constantly and they often manifest as projects. I'll be sharing those with all of you.
+ Many of my ideas end up as inspirational fuel for the jewelry business I'll be launching soon. I'll write about that journey as well.

All of that aside, we'll see where Kels Shark takes me. I don't have a strict blogging schedule set anymore, as Kels Shark is going to be relaxed and stress-free. To all of my blogging buddies, I've missed you tons and I hope you'll forgive my long hiatus from the blogosphere. To all of my readers, new or not, thank you for reading my lengthy begining post - I promise a future full of more pictures, projects, and fun... and less rambles. =)

Oh, and I borrowed this picture from my very first Pink Wonderland post (using my favorite new Photoshop action), but I thought it summed up my current life rather well: I'm not sure exactly where I'm going or how long it's going to take me in these little baby steps, but I'm excited and ready to have fun with it!

  9. I'm glad to see you back and yes I remembered you. :) I don't blog hardly at all anymore because I just simply don't have the time or energy it takes. I totally understand that sometimes people have to walk away! Good luck this time around. I hope it fits into your life better this time. Good to hear from you again.

    1. Thanks, Jessie! :) I think a lot of people who don't blog probably have no idea how much time and energy it really takes. I didn't have a clue until I started blogging myself! Thank you for visiting and saying hi! :) <3
